In light of 3 Los Angeles City Council members making anti-black statements, a city wide call has been issued for their resignations.

During a press conference (October 11, 2022) with Mayor Eric Garcetti and Capri Maddox, Civil Human Rights and Equity Division. Lay and Faith leaders attended, all sharing thoughts about the injustice and mistrust by 3 city officials and one labor representative.

As L.A. Voice board president, during the conference power-building among Angelinos residents became a theme heard here. We asked the following question “How will you own your power, today?”  Power is defined as the… the ability to act, respond, or make change. An ability, many feel is being held by a few individuals.

This moment in time, Los Angeles is experiencing a serious change. All systems are all in transition. How Angelinos previously experienced life, is now changing, and leaders must encourage residents to stand in power together. Be involved, so people’s core values are represented in all levels of civic-social policies, to become laws that will govern the safety of people. “If we do not involve our presence, then someone else will speak for us, in our absence!”

Get involved and lead. We have everything we need to succeed. #powerbuildingfor2024
