July is Muslim Heritage Month (MHM,) in the State of California. Since 2014 Islamic Hope’s Najee Ali founded MHM in Los Angeles with the support of former Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. Current Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and U.S. Senator Corey Booker, both endorsed Muslim Heritage Month. Over the last 10 years MHM is now recognized in several cities across the nation.

U.S. Senator Steven Bradford, Congresswoman Judy Chu, and Former City Attorney Mike Feuer with Compton’s Mayor Emma Shariff and Dr. Janna Scott; all honored several community members and organizational leaders; in Los Angeles at Mosque Omar Ibn Al Khattab during the first MHM event.

MHM recognizes the contributions and efforts led by Muslim communities. Several organizations in Los Angeles and Orange County sponsored the 2023 Muslim Heritage Month. The Muslim community are Voters, Heros, Heros, Organizations, and Philanthropists who all collaborate for various community projects to serve The Creator’s people.
